Somua S 35 3ème modèle Eaglemoss 1/43 (2013)

3ème édition de la nouvelle série 1/43 Eaglemoss AFV, lancée en exclusivité en France : c’est un char léger français SOMUA AMC (=Auto-Mitrailleuse de Cavalerie) S35 ("67257 - white 81") supposé appartenir à la 1ère DLM (Division Légère Mécanique -  ancienne division de cavalerie), 18ème Régiment de Dragons (symbole du dragon volant), 1er Escadron (insigne bleu), 2ème peloton (cœur blanc), Quesnoy, France, mai 1940. Prix de vente : 17€.

3rd issue of the new 1/43 Eaglemoss AFVs series, launched as a test exclusively in France: it's a French light tank SOMUA AMC (=Auto-Mitrailleuse de Cavalerie) S35 ("67257 - white 81") said as belonging to the 1ère DLM (Division Légère Mécanique - Light Mechanized Division - ancient Cavalry Division), 18ème Régiment de Dragons (Flying Dragoon symbol), 1er escadron (blue insignia), 2ème Peloton (white heart), Quesnoy, France, May 1940. Selling price: 17€.

Les proportions : La hauteur du train semble trop faible par rapport à la hauteur du tank.
Le camo et les marquages : la séparation des couleurs aurait dû être marquée de noir (ce détail peut être facilement rectifié avec un stylo à encre noire).

 The camo and markings: the colours separation should have been black lined (that detail can be easily rectified with some black ink pen).

Les cocardes françaises de flanc sont manquantes mais le modèle concorde avec les quelques photos disponibles du "81". La cocarde avant sur le modèle n’existe pas sur le vrai tank. La plaque d’immatriculation arrière aurait dû être placée à droite, et non à gauche comme illustré, et la cocarde arrière française, ici centrée, pourrait avoir été placée à gauche (pas 100% sûr de cela). Les couleurs ne sont pas exactes, ni l’immatriculation "67257". En ce qui concerne ce "81 blanc", elle aurait dû être "67240".

En effet, l’immatriculation "67257" correspond au "blanc 14" S35 du 14ème Régiment de cuirassiers (appartenant également à la 1ère DLM). Donc, l’immatriculation du modèle Eaglemoss n’est pas la bonne.

Il est à noter que le modèle 1/72 Altaya/IXO du "67257" est bien associé aux marquages "white 14" et présente une meilleure précision, bien qu’à une échelle plus petite!

The flanks French cockades are missing but it is concording with the few photos available of the "81". The front cockade here on the model doesn't exist on the real tank. The rear registration plate should have been right hand placed, not left hand as illustrated, and the French rear cockade, here centered, might have been left hand placed (not 100% sure of that). Colours are not accurate, nor the "67257" registration. Regarding this "white 81", it should have been "67240".
 
Effectively, the "67257" registration corresponds to the "white 14" S35 of the 14ème Régiment de Cuirassiers (belonging too to the 1st DLM). So, the registration of the Eaglemoss model is not the good one.
 
It is to be noted that the 1/72 Altaya/IXO model of the "67257" is well associated to the "white 14" markings and presents better accuracy, though at a smaller scale !!
